The Technik Museum Speyer is one of the largest technology museums in Europe and well known far beyond the region. Its extensive grounds and several exhibition halls display large original exhibits from aviation and space travel as well as automotive, maritime and railway history, including airplanes, submarines, locomotives and space technology. Special exhibitions, events and major happenings round off the offer and draw large numbers of visitors to Speyer every year.
Since 2012, Saberproject has been a fixture of the Science Fiction Meetup held there every year on the last weekend of September, one of the largest sci-fi events in Germany. Apart from the Covid years 2020 and 2021, we’ve been there every year and have thrilled tens of thousands of visitors with our lightsaber shows over the years.
Every year we perform our big lightsaber show in the museum’s Forum cinema: a completely self-developed stage show with its own story, authentic costumes and choreographed lightsaber fights in the Star Wars universe. Roughly every two to three years we create a completely new show, which usually premieres in Speyer.

We especially value the close collaboration with the Technik Museum’s event management team, especially with Corinna, who has been an honorary member of Saberproject since 2025. Together we keep coming up with new ideas and projects that go beyond the Science Fiction Meetup, a great collaboration we wouldn’t want to miss.
For us, the Technik Museum Speyer is much more than just a stage: it’s a place where new shows are born, club history was written and lifelong friendships began.
