Technik Museum Speyer 2012

When stormtroopers are trying to walk through the narrow interior of a submarine, Yoda and Darth Maul are examining a Boeing side by side and Darth Vader is taking a walk underneath a space shuttle, the annual Star Wars Days at the museum of technology in Speyer are taking place.

The impressive exhibits of the museum provide a spectacular atmosphere and that way this truly is the right location for such an event. But not only on this day is the museum of technology a quite exciting place. In addition to real airplanes, which can be visited from the inside as well partially, space shuttles, old and new technology and much more things to experience, the visitor is entertained with authentic Star Wars atmosphere on this special weekend - when Jedi and Sith meet each other, Lightsabers should also be around somewhere.

So it came to pass that our team as well was part of the Star Wars Days on 15th September in Speyer and amused the audience with our Lightsaber show at the museum's IMAX-Cinema. In doing so the rush was so huge in all of our three shows, that not all interested visitors could find an opportunity to watch our combats within the great hall.

When not fighting on stage, we used our free time to go on discovery tours through the museum ourselves. For we had left our booth at home this time, we had a lot of free time to see over the exhibits and greet one or another well-known face. We exchanged the latest news, visited the merchants at their booths and inspected the Star Wars exhibition, which would be at the museum until the 15th December. From most impressive Lego models to life-sized figures the exhibits made the heart beat faster.

Far too soon the day got to an end and at 5 p.m. the event finished with our workshop for all small Jedi and Sith. The interest was very great again and we had a good deal of trouble to equip all excited padawans with Lightsabers. Along with the kids we studied a short choreography and let the light and the dark side of the force compete with each other.

This way not only ourselves but the younglings as well could close the day successfully. We packed our things and let the museum of technology in Speyer behind to maybe come back next year, when the area again will be hosting imperials and rebels, Jedi and Sith, men and droids.
