When we received the request from the far north in 2018 from the botanika Bremen to take part in the new event “botanika goes space”, we never would have expected it to turn into a long-standing, regular collaboration. Today we’re one of the regular participants of this special science fiction event in Bremen’s botanical garden, always on the first weekend of September.
The botanika itself is a fascinating place: surrounded by exotic plant worlds, greenhouses and the Japanese garden, the atmosphere here is quite different from other cons or events. It’s exactly this unusual combination of botany and sci-fi that makes botanika goes space so unique.
During the event, visitors can watch a Saberproject show several times a day in the Japanese garden, under the watchful eyes of the large Buddha statue and next to a koi pond.
Just as popular is our lightsaber crafting, where we build lightsabers with the kids together with the botanika team. Every year it brings wide eyes and lots of fun for everyone involved. Over the years, the collaboration has become more than just an event appearance:
We’re happy to have a trusting friendship and a real partnership with the botanika team. For us, botanika goes space has become a fixed and much-loved date in our calendar, an event we look forward to anew every time.
