Role at SP?

I coordinate the various shows we perform, whether it’s our big theater show or a mini show. I plan the sequence and take care of the music.

I also build and maintain our sabers, which we use for shows, in workshops and for photos at the booth.

Best memory with the team?

In the more than 15 years I’ve been part of this, so many great things have happened that it’s hard for me to settle on one memory. So here’s an unsorted list: the 10-year party with Nick Gillard, over 200 shows, the ROTLI shoots and premiere, Legoland weekends, parties in Speyer, a choreography with Tim on the Star Wars Celebration main stage, Celebration in general, countless training days, film shoots with Rammstein and Schandmaul, Star Wars film premieres …

Three things that must not be missing at any event?

Besides the most important thing, my teammates, the following must not be missing at any event:

– charged (!) lightsabers
– enough spare blades
– a tool bag

Why lightsabers, anyway?

Lightsabers have an indescribable fascination. The look, the sound and the ways you can use them are simply special. What really got me, though, is the fighting style that needs a lightsaber as its weapon, because it has the perfect properties for it.

What’s your favorite lightsaber and why?

As a lightsaber builder, I love all my children equally. If I had to choose, though, I’d pick my Patronus.

Of the film sabers, I really like the Qui-Gon Jinn TPM. A plastic lightsaber with a telescoping blade of this model was my very first lightsaber back then, too.

How did you join the team?

In 2007 a friend and I entered the video contest, and we won. That’s how I got in touch with the team, went to Jedi-Con 2008 with them as a helper and was accepted into the team less than two months later.
