Vortex

Vortex

Character: ,
Medium:

Markus built the Vortex in 2013 as a show saber and as a replacement for the Amphibolia , and put it into service.

It is made of heavily modified MHS parts and contains what was then the latest board technology, the Crystal Focus Saber Core 6.5 by Plecter Labs. It was also the first saber with a bargraph, which shows programmable animations as well as the battery level. As a show saber, the Vortex is of course Saberproject Surround capable.

The saber has several quick-release couplers so it can be split in a flash during a fight. A stainless steel coupler is used mainly in training; for shows there’s a plastic coupler so it doesn’t shield the signals of the Saberproject Surround system’s radio module.

Markus used it in every show until 2022. After that it only served as a backup saber and was finally retired for good in 2023 after 150 show appearances.

In Action

In our short duel clip “botanika Battle”, Markus uses the lightsaber one more time

Is the archive incomplete?

Even though we put a lot of work into the content ourselves, we don’t know everything and don’t own every lightsaber.
