Legoland 2011 – Day 1

2 June 2011 @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Thursday, June 2, 2011 * Early arrival – Spinning Lights – Charity show

One by one, we arrived at Legoland very early in the morning, between 5:30 and 6:00. Still completely exhausted from the drive, but full of motivation nonetheless, we set about bringing our equipment, such as the booth and exhibits, into the room reserved for us. Then we all started setting up the booth together and displaying our sabers on it.

Once the booth was more or less set up, we still had some time to practice our new choreographies one last time before the park opened right on time at 10 in the morning. As expected, there was a lively rush on our booth again. There were lots of questions to answer, and while some chatted with the visitors, the others went looking for something to eat, since we hadn't had a bite since arriving at the park.

While some helpers and Alex (Shadow-Chao) stayed at the booth to keep an eye on everything, the rest of us headed to the Legoland arena at 12:30, where our first show was to take place at 13:00.

After we had transformed into Jedi and Sith, there wasn't much time left until our performance. A few last moves were practiced once more, and then we headed to the stage. We were quite amazed to see that the arena was completely packed with spectators.
We took our positions on stage out of sight, while Tim (Anatim) announced us and our new stage program with a few rousing words.

After we had finished our first performance, some of us stayed in costume, since there were only an hour and a half until the next show at 14:30. So, a little sweaty, we went back to our booth, where the rush had grown even bigger after our program.

Time passed faster than we liked, and before we knew it we had to go back to the stage to perform our program once more. This time too every seat was taken, and again we gave it our all to offer our fans a great program.

After our second performance we slowly got a bit hungry, so we left the booth in small groups and went to the canteen. But there wasn't much time to relax, because at 16:00 we already had the last performance of our first day.

So we went back to the arena, and once again the crowds were enormous. After this show too had ended with flying colors, some of us walked through the park in costume for a while before we all went back to our booth in team clothing.

We hadn't expected the rush that came now. Many spectators who had seen our program were now at our booth and had questions. At around 18:00 the gate to our room was slowly closed. But for us, the end of the day was not yet in sight.

Just like last year, we took a few sabers, went to the park entrance and did some serious spinning there once more. Individual choreographies were shown again, and soon a huge crowd had formed around us. With this performance we supported Legoland's charity campaign „Merlin’s Magic Wand“ for sick and needy children. Exhausted and tired, we finally left the park at 19:00 and headed off for a proper meal and to our accommodation.
