Back to the lightsaber

Note: Vintage review – this review is from an earlier version of our homepage and is correspondingly old!

First impression
You immediately feel transported into the scene from Episode IV where Ben Kenobi hands this saber to Luke.
It really looks like an Anakin ROTS that has been lying in a box on a desert planet for 20 years.

Handling
The saber uses 3 AA batteries but is still very light, almost like the Luke ROTJ.
It's perfectly balanced and the hilt is very close to the original Graflex. It's just a little thicker and minimally bigger.
Unlike the Anakin ROTS, however, it's a good 1.5cm shorter. Since the clamp points to the left, it's easier to grip than the Anakin.

Light and sound
The Luke ANH has the typical Jedi sounds of all Master Replicas sabers, i.e. 4 clash and 3 swing sounds.
On top of that, the blade glows a nice, bright blue.

Wear
The paint on the emitter flakes off after a while.
Unfortunately, some of the sabers sold later have problems with the clash sound. This is probably a second run, which otherwise doesn't differ from the first.
Once a clash has been triggered, it has to fade out completely before a new one can be triggered.

Verdict
A really great saber! It's perfectly balanced, sits very nicely in the hand and is a recommendation for any beginner too.
Of course, it's also excellent as a display piece or, after a mod, as a costume accessory.

Is the archive incomplete?

Even though we put a lot of work into the content ourselves, we don’t know everything and don’t own every lightsaber.
