Back to the lightsaber

Note: Vintage review – this review is from an earlier version of our homepage and is correspondingly old!

First impression
The Darth Vader ANH FX lightsaber really makes a good impression and looks very similar to the original.
The difference from the 2003 Vader ANH is immediately obvious. The 2007 Vader is much smaller and closer to the original. Its size matches the Vader ESB.

Handling
As with every Darth Vader saber, the hilt here is heavily detailed, which may look a bit bulky and angular at first glance.
However, the balance is excellent. Unlike the Vader ESB, there are no small „cable bridges“. The clamp is tilted 45° further to the left than on the ESB, so it's well suited for right-handers.

Light and sound
The Vader ANH has the typical Master Replicas Sith sounds. Blade and light are the same as on the Darth Maul TPM.
Unfortunately, MR didn't come up with anything new for this last saber.

Wear
No signs of wear are known for this saber.

Verdict
A great saber. It looks very similar to the original, and together with the Luke ANH you get a nice „father and son“ set.
Even if you own the 2003 Vader ANH, the '07 version is recommended, since it simply looks more accurate.

Is the archive incomplete?

Even though we put a lot of work into the content ourselves, we don’t know everything and don’t own every lightsaber.
