Disassembly
1. First, remove the pommel ring and the battery holder.
2. Unscrew the emitter with a pipe wrench (put a rubber mat underneath for protection).
3. Carefully pry off the gold circuit board (activator plate) with a thin object.
4. Remove the screws under the plate and take off the whole box!
5. Desolder the wires from the switch and push them into the hilt.
6. There's a pin in the thread the emitter was screwed onto. Tap it through the hilt with a hammer and a steel pin punch (or a blunt nail).
7. Remove the thin black mount from the battery holder (it's no longer needed). Pry it open at several points with a thin object (screwdriver), then pull hard with needle-nose pliers while twisting it out at the same time.
8. Pull the housing with the electronics out of the hilt downward (toward the battery compartment).
9. Also tap out the two steel pins in this housing with a hammer and a pin punch (or nail), and take off the blade holder/blade.
10. Carefully saw the electronics block apart cleanly and straight at the glued joint.
11. Now you can carefully detach the connector the LED strip is attached to.
