Before you start, you should read this page carefully. It gives you a few guiding principles and an overview of the materials and tools you'll need.
Keep these guiding principles in mind
- Cosmetic damage to your saber can't be completely ruled out. Almost every saber has one or more parts that can get damaged during disassembly. Be aware of that, and don't get discouraged if you break one of them.
- Take your time and find a quiet place where you can concentrate.
- Read the whole modding tutorial beforehand to get an overview.
- Get all the tools and materials you need. You'll find a list below.
- Work slowly and carefully. No sloppy work allowed!
- Be patient. Not everything works the first time.
- The parts of an FX lightsaber are pretty sturdy. Sometimes a bit of well-measured force helps.
- If you get stuck or something just won't work, stop and continue the next day at the earliest. Trying to force something usually leads to the opposite of what you wanted.
