Legoland 2015
4 June 2015 @ 8:00 am – 7 June 2015 @ 5:00 pm
Sixth time in brick land!
This was already our sixth time at Legoland, and the event has now become our first big activity of the year.
The booth is set up for the first time, and you greet old friends, some of whom you haven't seen since the last Legoland event. The German Garrison also provides the right Star Wars feeling; this year it was there with a record turnout of more than 270 members.
Not only the attendance was record-breaking, but also the temperatures: stormtroopers, officers and Jedi sweated in temperatures above 30° to entertain the visitors. Despite the exhausting heat, all participants had fun and celebrated their shared passion together.
This year our team once again had great supporters with us, without whom an event of this size wouldn't be possible for us. Our show did have a few teething troubles: Tim had to stop the dress rehearsal with a bloody nose, and Dino had to practice the choreos for Darth Vader's part until late at night, since Alex could only be at Legoland for two days at short notice. Still, we managed to present our new program flawlessly.
The new show has a bigger story than you're used to from us. Set during the Galactic Civil War, a small group of Jedi is hunted by the Empire's sinister agents, the Inquisitors, on Darth Vader's orders. But within the ranks of the Empire there are also doubters and traitors who can keep fanning the flame of rebellion. The new show is 20 minutes long and includes some lines we recorded ourselves and, of course, once again the great performance of Ferenc Husta as Darth Vader's voice and narrator.
For us, the four days blurred into one fantastic event, with many highlights we'll fondly remember: seeing lots of old friends again and making new ones, enthusiastic reactions to our show and lightsaber exhibition, the German Garrison's anniversary party for its 15th anniversary and tenth annual meetup at Legoland, the singing performances of star guest Jay Laga'aia and of course Legoland itself, which is always worth a visit.
On the following pages you'll find lots of impressions from all days, sorted by our shows, the Mindstorms Center where the fan booths were, and the park in general.
