The Telian could be called the result of kitbashing: Hannes’ first MHS custom from 2011 is a saber assembled from existing parts of earlier customs.
A very simple design focused on good handling, which also makes it excellent for spinning and tricks thanks to the neck section in front of the blade holder. The relatively heavy blade holder does the rest to pick up some serious speed when spinning for the fun of it.
With this saber, Hannes became a spinning and throwing expert and developed and rehearsed his first choreographies.
Technically, the Telian is equipped relatively “simply”: the heart of the saber is a Crystal Shard 1.0 by Plecter Labs, held firmly in the hilt by a 3D-printed chassis. A 2 W speaker provides the sound and a GGW Triple Cree LED provides the glow.
Today the saber is more or less retired. It comes along to most events, but usually stays in Hannes’ saber bag. Ready and working if needed, though.
The Telian is an old hand among the team’s custom sabers and has served well over the past 15 years or so.
