Destroyer’s Blade

Destroyer’s Blade

Character: ,
Medium:

A dark saber with an almost cinematic story: “Destroyer’s Blade” is one of Anne’s two first-generation dark side “Patronus” sabers from the Saberproject Shop. They were originally bought by Anne’s ex-partner for his birthday, but after the breakup changed hands in… let’s say an unconventional way. Today it lives in Kiel and is regularly used in training side by side with its sibling saber “Sarrat”.

The combination of a red blade and dark faux crocodile leather gives the saber a striking yet coherent look. The wrap was originally just a makeshift solution, meant to cover the marks Anne’s ex left while trying to loosen the double coupler with a fork and a hammer (with moderate success). The battle scars turned into a new look: understated black and classy.

The name “Destroyer’s Blade” is closely tied to its owner. Since childhood, Anne has been nicknamed “the Destroyer”, not out of malice, but because of a certain… mastery of clumsiness. Particularly legendary is the episode in her best friend’s bathroom: piece by piece, the towel rail, lamp, toilet flush, shower curtain and mirror cabinet gave up, and as the crowning glory even the washing machine’s porthole. At the latest after the comment “Don’t leave Anne the Destroyer unsupervised!”, the nickname was sealed and spread through every circle of friends.

In the lightsaber scene, the name later received its second, almost official consecration: at a workshop with Markus, Saberproject’s teacher, the Kiel group was pushed to its mental and physical limits for six hours. To unwind in the evening, everyone went to Mary and Andreas’ place, where some homemade foam lightsabers happened to come into play. Anne had never seen these DIY pieces before, and before anyone knew it, she was facing Markus with a garishly colorful “saber”. A single inviting gesture from him was enough, and Anne happily started whacking away. What followed was a spontaneous living room duel that had the whole group cheering, cheering on and laughing. The only casualty of all the action was a Lego model that fell off the TV wall. Since that evening, “the Destroyer” has also been a fixed term in the local Star Wars community.

It is the extended arm of its namesake: dangerous, unpredictable and with plenty of stories to tell.

Is the archive incomplete?

Even though we put a lot of work into the content ourselves, we don’t know everything and don’t own every lightsaber.
