Darth Vader ESB

Darth Vader ESB

Darth Vader’s Episode V lightsaber is still based on an MPP flash handle and differs from the ANH version only in the details.

The most noticeable features are the additional cables or wires below the emitter and the straightened clamp. The lever on the clamp is also missing; it’s held together by just two screws. The number of grips is reduced from seven to six. The grips themselves are longer and sit right against the clamp. On the ANH version there is more space between them.

Behind the Scenes

An MPP flash handle was also used for the stunt scenes in the film; the blade was simply fixed in the hilt with screws.

Reviews and Galleries

For this lightsaber design we have various reviews and picture galleries of versions that are or were available to buy.

Is the archive incomplete?

Even though we put a lot of work into the content ourselves, we don’t know everything and don’t own every lightsaber.
