Count Dooku was once a Jedi Master before he became Darth Sidious’ next apprentice after Darth Maul and took the name Darth Tyranus. Still described as a political idealist by his old Jedi friends before the start of the Clone Wars, he became the leader of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
His curved hilt design reflects the elegance of the Count of Serenno. A gifted duelist, he was a formidable opponent and during the Battle of Geonosis even took on Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and his former master Yoda.
Count Dooku, also known as Darth Tyranus, led the Separatists for more than three years during the Clone Wars, until his master, Darth Sidious, betrayed him to get one step closer to his true goal: turning Anakin Skywalker to the dark side.

The lightsaber design differs from the ROTS version in only one detail on the pommel. The pommel in ROTS is chrome, unlike the matte version in AOTC.
