Anniversary in the Japanese Garden!

On September 2 and 3, it was ‚botanika goes space‘ in Bremen for the fifth time. Ever since it began, the small, family-friendly convention has been a fixed date in our annual calendar, and every year we look forward to the lovely mix of Star Wars, Star Trek and other sci-fi fans. By now we even get a real feeling of home when we set up our booth in the Japanese Garden and inaugurate our stage area.
This year, however, several short-notice cancellations due to illness (yes, Covid is still a thing in 2023) meant we once again got to prove our well-known talent for improvisation: on Friday evening we were still working on new choreos for the performances, so visitors could enjoy a full Saberproject show.

With the support of Jenny and Wibke from the Forcesabers Hamburg, that worked out wonderfully, and so we rocked the Japanese Garden with two shows a day. Literally, even: Niklas „Yrrwesen“ accompanied us twice with live beats, which was incredibly fun, and we've been thinking about a revival ever since.
This year was also all about „Timo and Alex dare to do something“. Timo, not entirely without a slight fear of heights, was allowed, with botanika's permission, to climb up under the roof to photograph and film our show from there.

And so that from now on Timo doesn't always have to sit in some roof, Alex later launched a drone, which brought a breath of fresh air to the Japanese Garden and great footage that will surely be on our social media channels soon.

Of course, on our fifth visit lots of creative lightsabers were crafted again. From red and blue to rainbow-colored to black or small double-bladed lightsabers, there was everything, and we're always happy when, during the breaks, so many little lightsaber fighters let loose with their creative works on the stage area. The next generation is definitely secured!

A big thank you goes to the whole botanika team for the invitation and organizing the event, and to all visitors, big and small, whom we got to meet that weekend! We hope to see you again next year!
