Back to the lightsaber

This lightsaber is a replica and was auctioned on Propstore.com. We use the original auction text and photos with kind permission from propstore.com.

Description

An officially-licensed Signature Edition replica of Rey’s (Daisy Ridley) lightsaber hilt from J.J. Abrams‘ Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In the film, Rey and Finn (John Boyega) wielded Anakin Skywalker’s (Hayden Christensen) lightsaber in their snowy fight with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) after the Force led Rey to find it in Maz Kanata’s (Lupita Nyong’o) cantina.

Propshop, the industry prop and set decoration fabricator which created many props for The Force Awakens, released made-to-order limited-edition replicas in partnership with Disney and Lucasfilm. The pieces were made from original 3D scan data from the production to ensure the utmost accuracy.

This lightsaber hilt is made of aluminum and steel expertly hand-painted to appear weathered, with high-density resin detailing and six dense black rubber strips. Also included is a Signature Edition plaque autographed by Boyega, a Propshop display stand, an acrylic display case, the hilt’s original Propshop shipping box and crate, and an instructions booklet. The hilt exhibits some grime and scratching in its chrome finish from handling. Dimensions (displayed): 8″ x 3.5″ x 11.75″ (20.5 cm x 9 cm x 30 cm)

Additional Provenance: Propshop Authenticity Medallion numbered „800000000000555“ and Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services.

Estimate: $3,500 – 7,000

Is the archive incomplete?

Even though we put a lot of work into the content ourselves, we don’t know everything and don’t own every lightsaber.
