As the first convention of its kind in Schleswig-Holstein, project AREA 51 set the bar very high for future events of this kind. Initiated and planned as a charity convention by Mary, Andreas (who as members of the Fördesabers have been with us for several years) and Lars, in the end it raised more than €12,000 in donations for three non-profit organizations.

We were there with our exhibition booth, talked shop with visitors about lightsabers, told them about our short film RISE OF THE LAST INTERN and handed out lightsabers for photos in front of our photo wall. Markus with the Saberproject Shop and Markus and Kai with Saberland were also integrated into our booth with their sales stands – and lots of visitors took advantage of what they had to offer.

Our booth was part of the Lightsaber Action Area, where several lightsaber clubs from Germany offered various lightsaber-related activities: lightsaber workshops for kids and adults, lightsaber crafting (especially for kids), a scavenger hunt and an info booth about all the groups were in high demand.

On the stage, built especially for us in this size, we were able to perform our show, last played three years ago – supported by our friends from the Saber Academy Karlsruhe and the Fördesabers. We had a lot of fun and, for the first time ever, got to enjoy a shower of sparks.

Tim hosted the program together with Richard and Tobias from Kack- und Sachgeschichten, and also held a panel about ROTLI with Timo.

We thank everyone for two very intense days and look forward to doing it again – we'll definitely be back.
