In the end we were able to drive off, and they advised us to use the underground garage. It would cost €26 per day, but since we were exhibitors, „something could be done about that“. When we came back from the garage, however, the friendly staff told us that we wouldn't get a discount after all, but that all the street parking in the area was free. So we went back to the underground garage, paid €3.50 for 10 minutes and simply parked at the side of the road around the corner. But this would have consequences…

Once the cars were successfully parked, we picked up our tickets and went to the fan room, where the rest of the team was already busy setting up.
After a good two hours, lots of organizing and fun/sweat, our Saberproject Jedi-Con booth was set up!
It consisted of: 2 computers, all the FX sabers as well as minis, custom sabers from jk-sabers, a Hyperdyne and a PlecterLabs. Our banner also decorated the whole booth. Our two giveaways were set up and ready to go.

At 12:00 the first visitors were let into the hotel, and Jedi-Con 2008 began!

The very first visitors to our booth were interested in our two-in-one giveaway. So the raffle ticket sales began, along with the endless explaining of the individual sabers. Flyers and stickers were handed out by the dozen on the very first day, and we had lots of interesting conversations.
The booth was always busy! We hadn't expected such a rush on the first day! Thanks to all of Friday's visitors!

We had a row of seats reserved for us right behind the guest stars and had an optimal, if slightly offset, view of the stage.
We all liked the opening film, as well as the subsequent show fight, which was heavily based on acrobatics. Steve Sansweet's panel afterwards was disappointing, though, since everything that was said or shown had already been on the internet. Unfortunately they only showed the old The Clone Wars trailer, which had already been shown at Celebration Europe in July 2007… Plus the equally old The Force Unleashed trailer…
We had really hoped for new video and image material, and Steve Sansweet couldn't share much new information either.

Still, we drove home excited, the first day was over!
