First impression
At first glance, you notice the packaging is bigger than for the old FX lightsabers, which is of course due to the crossguards.
Looking more closely at the hilt, the uneven design catches the eye, suggesting that in the film the saber may have been assembled from various individual parts or represents an old relic.
A characteristic and nicely executed feature is the red cable running along the entire hilt. The paint job also tries to recreate the look of a homemade saber. Unfortunately, the weathering looks too regular, especially on the crossguards. But talented hobbyists can surely improve the look themselves.

Handling
The saber is relatively heavy and thicker than average, which makes handling noticeably harder. However, since the design has hardly any protruding elements like buttons or boxes, tricks and spins are basically possible with some strength and a bit of practice.
Tricks feel unfamiliar at first, since you have to get used to the crossguards. If you hold the hilt the wrong way, the crossguards touch your body, so even simple tricks take some practice at first.

Light and sound
As is typical for Kylo Ren's lightsaber, the main blade extends first, followed by the two crossguards.
The sound is very aggressive. The hum effect sounds unstable, for example with scratching and crackling noises. There are 5 swing and 4 clash sounds.
What stands out is that the motion sensors are far more sensitive than on the older FX lightsabers. Even with soft, slow movements you hear swing sounds.
The flicker effect is an absolute first. The crossguards flicker regularly, while the main blade flickers irregularly. These effects reinforce the unstable, improvised impression of the saber.

Wear
The saber is solidly made. The weak points are the small mounts for the external cable. With more intensive use, the two middle mounts come loose, since they're only plugged into the saber. The paint is fairly robust, but comes off quickly with heavy use and frequent drops.

Verdict
Especially compared to the FX lightsabers already available, Hasbro's Kylo Ren TFA doesn't sit well in the hand due to its oversized design. The crossguards take some getting used to at first, but with some practice you can still do tricks with it.
Light and sound reflect the character of the saber. Sensitive motion sensors give you the feeling of holding a real lightsaber when you move it. The flicker effect, used for the first time in FX lightsabers, really shines here.
If you want to fall to the dark side of the Force, you can add the Kylo Ren FX lightsaber to your collection with a clear conscience, even if the handling has its drawbacks.

[165,130,125
135
post-14665","galerie-und-review","type-galerie-und-review","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","hersteller-black-series","hersteller-master-replicas-fx","hersteller-hasbro","typ-review
14534

Kylo Ren FX-Lichtschwert -
