Legoland 2013 – Day 1 & 2

30 May 2013 @ 9:00 am 31 May 2013 @ 6:00 pm

Thursday/Friday, 30.+31.05.2013 * Early Arrival - Saberproject Surround System - Kamino-Weather

In contrast to our habit we already met at the Legoland Günzburg at Wednesday evening to build up our booth and not, as usual, right before the park's opening at Thursday morning.

Unfortunately one part of our team was delayed, so we could not start with the assembling until midnight and had to work late into the night. It was three a.m. when our booth finally stood within the Mindstorm Center, equipped with all our sabers.
We fell into our beds exhausted to get some hours' sleep until the upcoming four-day-event.

We met at our booth at 8 a.m., because we wanted to practice our new stage performance at the Legoland arena a few times before the park opened at 10 o'clock.
Although these last rehearsals are some sort of routine for us, we were quite curious this time, for we also would test our brand new and self developed "Saberproject Surround" wireless sound system, with which the Lightsaber sounds would be broadcasted with the arena's hifi system in real time.

For we had not had an opportunity before to check this new achievement, we very relieved, when everything went according to plan. We practiced our program, which we would present three times this day, in a good mood.
At 9.30 a.m. we got back to our booth and soon after the first visitors dropped by and we started explaining everything about Lightsabers to young and older fans of the elegant weapon.

The morning passed by and soon we had to get to the changing rooms to get dressed for our first show. We left the booth within the hands of our faithful assistants, without whom we would not have been able to participate in this event and whom we would like to thank very much at this point! ganz besonderer Dank gebührt!

Because we had to share our changing room with the dancing formation Tanztreu, that we already knew from the last year, we changed in tight spaces in our new costumes, for this year we not only wanted to impress with our new stage performance and our Saberproject surround system, but also with new and more authentic costumes.
When we entered the arena armed with our Lightsabers, our earlier tension was forgotten swiftly and we went through the first of ten shows quite motivated.

After a short lunch time we changed places with our assistants, gave out sabers, explained about the different types and showed our self made custom sabers in the other two shows in between.

In the evening we went to bed early, because we all felt the lack of sleep from the last night.

When we got up on Friday morning, the weather outside was grey and rainy and the rain would not stop until Sunday, which cast a shadow over our good mood.

We arrived at the Legoland at 8.30 a.m., cleaned our booth and the sabers and got ready to welcome the day's first visitors.
For the arena is only halfway covered, the audience was a little less than the day before. Nevertheless we presented our show as motivated as always and got a lot of applause, although it was really freezing outside.

Happy to get inside the warm and dry again, we staffed the booth so our assistants could get some lunch and free time. Despite the rain we were looking forward to our remaining two shows - however, we were quite glad to change back into our normal clothes after the last one and stay at our booth for the rest of the day.

After the park closed at 7 p.m. and we were back in our guesthouses, we sat together for a while and waited for our last assistants, who would arrive late that night.
