Anakin Skywalker AOTC Force FX Lightsaber (2002)
First Impression:
Except for the oversize, the hilt seems to be very beautiful, all the details are adopted from the original but unfortunately not in size 1:1. The activator is right behind the emitter. The third version is the first which is upgraded with a "auto-shut-off" feature.
Handling:
Handling? It’s more „wobbling“ because everything of this hilf is not attached well, neither the blade nor the buttons. The saber is not suited for fighting and swinging is not fun as well, because the hilt is oversized.
Light and Sound:
The Blue of the Blade is similar to the Luke ESB but slightly more bright that the other lightsabers. Unfortunately it’s an EL blade and not a LED blade. Because of that, it is not bright in an illuminated room, in the dark it is not as bright either. The sound is quite quiet in comparison to the other lightsabers but still noticeable. It contains only one swing sound but as many clash sound as its successors.
From time to time it may happen that a certain sounds skips for example that there is no drone. Switching off an on the saber remedies the problem. This also varies between the different versions, the first version had many electronic issues.
Wearout:
Because of the fact, that this saber is more suitable for a showcase than for fighting, it wears out little. However the saber can get broken when using it seldom because the electronis are vulnerable.
But the second version of these saber has seals added to better fitment and revamped electronics. At the saber in the photograph a bubble is missing.
Conclusion:
This saber is more suitable for collecting than for fighting and for training it is just clumsy.
Besides the Anakin AOTC is very rare because it is the first Force FX ligthsaber that was produced by Master Replicas. The orginal release date of this saber is May 10, 2002.
Resulting Mark: 4/10
