Mara Jade
FX-
Lightsaber
First Impression:
If one is just used to the look of an FX-Lightsaber, the thinness catches the eye first. Completely made of aluminium one can notice the saber's high-quality at first glance.
Handling:
The saber is made of aluminium so it is very light, the balance is good to do tricks and throws. Negativ aspects are the disturbing grips near the emiter and the clamp which is sharp-edged. This can lead to smaller injuries.
The place of the activation button is chosen unfortunately because it lays in the palm of hand. Switching on and off accidentally is a rarity because there must be a certain pressure on the button but doing tricks one easily touches the button which leads to ignition misses.
Light and Sound:
Our testing model is equipped with a blue Luxeon III LED. Due to a 1"-blade with a special diffuser the light is eradiated light and evenly.
A Master Replicas soundboard, taken out of a Yoda ROTS FX-Lightsabers, is responsible for the aocustical backup. Regrettably a clash sensor has not been installed, so there a no clashsounds.
Wearout:
Due to the high-quality material the saber is made of there are no weak points or wearing parts.
Also without an instruction the disassembly can be done easily
Conclusion:
Although the saber is fit for action, it is not that suitable for fighting due to some distant elements and the unfortunately chosen place of the activator. But for everyone who always wanted to have a Mara Jade FX-Lightsaber this saber is a really good choice. It is an enrichment for every collector.
