First Impression:
The high quality of the saber, which is made of aluminium, catches the eye first. In comparison to the FX-Lightsabers from Master Replicas and Hasbro the Dara Jade is thinner which grades up the visual appearance.

Handling:
Owing to the utilised aluminium the saber is very light and balanced well; due to the ears and the clamp the saber is unhandy though. It is hard to do various tricks for there is no gripping surface and the clamp is sharp-edged. When practising intensely, the hands ache, which reduces the fun factor. The activation button is placed in the middle of the hilt on the only spare gripping surface. Switching on and off accidentally is a rarity for there has to be a certain pressure on the button; while doing tricks, however, one easily touches the button which leads to ignition misses.

Light and Sound:
Due to the emitter's construction the saber is equipped with a ¾-inch blade, which is considerably thinner than a blade from Master Replicas or Hasbro. Because of the smaller diameter of the blade, the lense is partially masked so the blade is illuminated weakly. Another disadvantage of such a blade is its stability and afterbouncing after strikes. The balance is affected negatively, too. The soundboard is that of a Yoda ROTS FX-Lightsabers from Master Replicas, which plays back the sounds loudly.

Wearout:
By reason of the high-quality material the saber is made of, there are no weak points or wearing parts. A disassembly can be done easily without an instruction as well.

Conclusion:
Although it is fit for action the saber is not suitable for fighting at all. For someone who attaches importance to machining, visual appearance and quality, the Dara Jade is an enrichment for every collection.
