Clampmodification

Hyperblade The Clamp
After reassembling your saber with the new kit, you modify the clamp.
Following is important:
The recharge port has to be in the big hole over which the clamp will be mounted. With a little work and flair it fits exactly through the hole and lets integrate itself into the clamp. (in the original Hyperdynelabs tutorial the recharge port displaces the covertech wheel, by removing the wheel and drilling a bigger hole inside the thread). Now many handicrafts are required, as the black plastic piece has to get fitted to the recharge port and multifunction calliper. For that you need e.g. a smaller plastic piece (building centre), from which you cut fitting parts. These will aggravate or change and glue the black piece inside the clamp. Finally a bigger hole has to be drilled that the recharge port fits in with a little space. Now the clamp itself has to be worked on, that there is more place. Doing this two small drills (that have fixed the original slide switch) have to be grinded away. After now everything should fit a new activator plate (alternate for the original plastic plate) of about 0.8mm thickness (brass here) is needed. You cut this to the same size as the original and drill a fitting hole for the recharge port. In matter of the optical composition you can drill further, smaller holes in it, e.g. to glue in small nickel-plated rivets.

Aktivatorplatten
ABOVE: new activator plate BELOW: old activator plate

Now a piece for the open side (where the original switch has been) has to be made, to cover the hole. A small, thin metal-plate is used, which will be cut to the exact length of the clamp. Inside this now a hole has to be drilled, where a nickel-plated rivet fits in with a little space, which will be used as button, since the multifunction calliper is inside the clamp. This is glued on the black piece of the clamp from below.

In this metal-plate also smaller holes to glue in further rivets for optical reasons.

Then the whole plate has to be glued at the clamp that the original hole is not visible anymore. Now you put in the rivet that is used as extended calliper. This is glued with just a bit glue at the multifunction calliper inside the clamp and you are done. After some test the converted clamp is put together and bolted. Finally the brass plate has to be put over the recharge port, bolted with the screw nut and fixed with a little glue on the clamp or the black plastic piece. After everything is finished it should look similar to the photos. If you worked cleanly and exactly, no one will forget this custom version fast! =)

Pommel ring
Most of the MR sabers have inside the pommel ring a big hole, that fixes the batterypack and its speaker. When your saber is converted inclusive clamp and the pommel is screwed on, you can watch directly on the speaker. This is not very nice and the speaker is not saved
The solution would be following:
Cut a round metal plate (max. 1mm thick), that fits exactly inside the pommel ring. Drill holes for the sound and glue it with a good glue inside the original end cap. Now the speaker problem is solved and it looks as if it had to be like that. ;-)

All in all this is associated with much work, but it is worth it, because there are only low costs. If there are any questions we will help you (Contact, chat, forums ...).
We will help you in things lightsabers as good as we can.

Have fun tinkering,
