Obi-Wan Kenobi ROTS Force FX Lightsaber (2007)

First Impression:
Short after unpacking one has the impression that not much has changed, compared to the previous model by Master Replicas. But then the matt finishing, most visible at the golden parts, catches ones eye. When the pommel is unscrewed a further difference becomes visible, the batterypack. This one has a plastics cover that covers most of the batteries and has to be unscrewed to change the batteries. The current supply is not given by 3 AA but 3 AAA batteries. Apart from that the saber is made very stable.

Handling:
The saber is a bit lighter than the previous model, due to the smaller batteries, but the difference is hardly noticeable, the saber's fulcrum is set on the emitter When using it right the saber has a good balance and is usable for all tricks and studied fights. Thanks to the Emitter a sliding when doing faster tricks and hits is impossible. So this saber is very good for beginners. The clamp may be annoying, as at all sabers with one, but one gets used to it when training continuous.

Light and Sound:
The blade glows very bright in a quite handsome blue. The sound is replayed with the speaker loud and clearly. The sounds are taken over from Master Replicas one-to-one: 3 movingsounds and 4 clashsounds, so one gets to hear the well-known jedi sounds.

Abrasion:
Since the saber is machined durable, there is not much to complain. Even harder drops are endured, but some scratches in the painting are not avoidable. When using it frequently the painting suffers a bit. Mainly the golden part bleaches quite fast. So does the golden PCB-imitation on the clamp, where the yellow plastics worsen the optic.

Conclusion:
The Obi-Wan is handy and very stable. The construction and balance make it a saber not only good for beginners. If you want to buy this saber you surely choose well.
