Luke Skywalker ROTJ Force FX Lightsaber (2010)
First Impression:
The hilt appears simple and - at first sight - even poor in detail, because the saber does not have any elements sticking out besides the activator box.
In comparison with Luke's saber in the movies the thickness of the neck underneath the emitter strikes the eye as well. This causes an image of dumpiness and not being very authentically realized. The activator box as well as the characteristical D-Ring of the Luke ROTJ has been realized quite well.
Handling:
One can grab the saber very easily, because of the neck's thickness, and even the activator box is not distracting. Accidentally switching on and off can mostly be avoided, for the activator has a very restrained form.
Although this saber only needs 3 AAA batteries it is a bit heavier than its forerunner.
The saber is well balanced and therefore offers an easy and secure way of handling the saber.
Light und Sound:
In this saber as well 64 LEDs ensure the glow of the blade, which is peculiarly bright and rich in the Luke FX-Lightsaber.
The sound has not changed and is like in all other FX-Lightsabers. The saber is equipped with 4 clash- and 3 moving-sounds.
Wearout:
When using the activator prevalently, the activator gets loose and smooth.
The plate at the activator box might as well loosen after some time, but it can be glued on again easily. For the hand grabs the hilt right underneath the emitter, the copper colored part of the neck wears off after a while.
Conclusion:
The Luke ROTJ FX-Lightsaber wins with its handy character and its simple, but convincing design.
It fits the hand quite well and is perfectly balanced.
This saber is a worthwhile investment even for beginners.
