Luke Skywalker ANH Force FX Lightsaber (2007)
First Impression:
If the wrapping wasn't a little different, this saber could have been from Master Replicas; although the saber didn't spend twenty years in a chest on Tatooine, it, however, does originally look like the saber in the fourth episode.
Handling:
The saber's fulcrum is set slightly above the emitter so there is a good balance for all kinds of stunts. Those who are fond of the Anakin ROTS surely will get along with this saber, too. Because of the matt surface a rapid slipping can be avoided better than for example with a chrome-plated surface. Especially in long training units this can be an advantage.
The Clamp is directed left, which can also be an advantage for right handers. By mounting the shifter right above the Clamp it isn't as distracting as a shifter that is attached to the side.
Light und Sound:
The blade glows in a handsome blue and the sound are expressed quite distinct. Here as well nothing has changed and the quality has been retained. Because of the different materials of the individual hilts the sound of both sabers differs slightly, even though they use the same sounds.
In comparison with the Anakin the Luke is more unobtrusive; this approximates the original sounds quite clearly.
Wearout:
The emitter's colour spalls after some time; the same problem as with the MR-Version. The hilt itself is able to tolerate a few strikes, whereat the ears underneath the emitter are the weak point. They can become loose very quickly or even crack, if the saber falls to hard ground or gets damaged by a forceful strike.
Conclusion:
The "primal lightsaber", the first lightsaber seen in the film! The hilt itself is very detailed and handy; surely one of the best sabers of the FX-series. So for all those who didn't get to a Luke ANH from MR: Help youself to one of these!
Resulting Mark: 9/10
