Saberproject@Fantasydays - Sunday

[ Overview ] [ Day 1 ] [ Day 2 ] [ Day 3 ]

Sunday, 03.10.2010 * Workshop - Show - Closing - Dismounting

Sunday morning began very smoothly for those of the team, who had been sleeping and partying half of the night with the Ring-Stars at the hotel. At about half past nine we went to our stand after a rich breakfast and started preparing everything for the visitors. When all sabers were back in their right place the rest of the team arrived at the Novotel and we awaited the first visitors.

On this day as well there should not be as much people as we had hoped there would be. Although there were not so much visitors our stand was quite full and we had a great time answering questions and explain everything to the people.

For the area did not really fill up until noon, we had again time to wander around in small groups to explore everything. Eddy and Max had a great time playing various consoles within the games room, while Jana got herself a big - and quite scary looking - scar painted on her face at one of the other stands.

Like on Friday and Saturday we offered two lightsaber-workshops. Even though the convention did not have much visitos our workshops were very full and so kids, teenagers and even adults twirled their lightsabers and fought each other during noon and afternoon and had a lot of fun.

Content with our previous efforts we made our way to the changing rooms to dress into Jedi and Sith for our last stage performance. To a few little mistakes and blodgers everything went perfectly fine and although there were not many people in the audience this time they were thrilled by our show and we got a lot of applause.
Only a few minutes later the Closing Ceremony started and because we should again show something on stage we hurried back to the backstage area. We performed again our freestyle program and posed for the audience until the music was over. Then the host said a few words and we went back behind the stage to watch the closing-video of the Fantasydays.

Unfortunately it could not be playes because of some technical malfunction and Marc Blasweiler and some of his crew improvised a procession over the stage to bridge this embarassing silence and we of course took part in it as well with our lightsabers. After all the video could not been shown but our spontaneous idea caused a lot of laughter and there were no complaints about the malfunction.

After we had chatted with a few people and said good-bye to many others, we got back to our stand to finally start dismounting and packing up. Before that there was a little surprise from our neighbours, the Strawberry Heroes, who knelt before us for a special kind of congratulation.

In a good mood and with music we started dismantling the stand and left the location late that evening tired but happy and content with this successful weekend and made our way back home.

Although the Fantasydays did not have as much visitors, as the organizers had hoped, we truly had a lot of fun and hope to be part of this event again next year, when Neuss gets the meeting point of magicians, elves and warriors.
